Weekly Announcements
Blessing of the Animals: We will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis with a pet blessing on October 3rd at 2:00 pm. Please gather in front of the Parish Hall, and, if you wish to make a contribution to the Humane Society, we will be collecting bags of dry dog or cat food.
Vestry Update: It was reported that pledges are a bit behind what was budgeted through August and what was received this time last year. Expenses are also below budget but not enough to offset the decreased income. The building next door to the church is for sale and the owners have offered it to St. Paul’s. The vestry decided to explore the possibility of purchasing it, then leasing it until the time it might need the land or space.
Children’s Church: Please drop your children off in the Sunday School area before church, rather than have them follow the processional. The teachers want more time for their “church”.
Little Free Library: The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) are requesting children’s books for our free library in front of Anglican Hall. You may drop off your donation in the office during business hours or on Sunday and leave in the Sacristy to be picked up on Monday.
Halloween Candy: Main Street is making plans for a scaled back Halloween that will reduce the amount of exposure time. We are looking for bags of individually wrapped candy. If you are able to donate, please drop off bags in the Narthex or in the office with Tymina (between 8 am & noon, M-Th). If you would like to help pass out candy, please contact the office.
We Need Your Help: We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to help with broadcasting our 10:30 am service on Sunday mornings. We are hoping to find 4-6 volunteers so that each person is needed once a month or less. Whether you are tech savvy or simply willing to learn, we can teach you what you need to know to broadcast our services over Zoom and Facebook Live. Please contact Fr. Jim or Tymina if you are willing to get involved in this ministry.
Prayer Request Tree: The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) has set up an area on the side of the Anglican Hall pathway where anyone can write down a prayer request and hang it up to be read. The ECW will be checking these frequently and adding to their prayer list.
Arkansas ECW Fall Gathering: The Arkansas Episcopal Churchwomen will hold their fall gathering virtually on Saturday, November 6th. The guest speaker will be The Rev. Canon Dr. Lisa Corry, Subdean of Trinity Cathedral. Watch for more information.
Giving to St. Paul’s: For those attending online there are three ways to give: you may mail your gifts to St. Paul’s, at PO Box 2255, Batesville, AR 72503, make an online contribution by going to our website (stpaulsbatesville.org) and following the link to make an online contribution or you may set up automatic payments through your bank’s Bill Pay service.
